Alan E. Gamza is Senior Counsel in Moses Singer's Business Reorganization, Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights practice group. He was a partner at the firm since 1993 and has practiced in the area of creditors' rights and bankruptcy since 1984.

Alan has represented Chapter 11 debtors in a broad spectrum of industries including retail, publishing, manufacturing, residential and commercial real estate development, brokerage, assisted care facilities, cogeneration, alternative energy development, equipment leasing, casino gaming and employee outsourcing. He has also represented debtors in workouts outside of Chapter 11.

Alan has served as counsel to Creditors’ Committees in various industries including manufacturing, computer leasing, waste removal, automotive dealerships, retail, real estate and casino gaming.

Alan also focuses on advising acquirers of assets in Chapter 11 cases through Plans of Reorganization and 363 asset sales and secured creditors, major shareholders, dominant unsecured creditors, DIP lenders, licensees, licensors, lessors, leasees and parties to development agreements in Chapter 11 cases. He has represented former partners (and others) in law firm bankruptcies. He has also represented acquirers of assets pursuant to Article 9 foreclosure sales.  Alan has also served as the Chapter 7 Trustee in the case of a major music producer.

A major portion of Alan’s practice is concentrated on representing indenture trustees, security and collateral agents and administrative agents in both domestic and international bankruptcy or insolvency cases and several of these representations have been recognized with awards of excellence.  He also concentrates and is experienced in Chapter 15 cases and foreign insolvencies and has been involved in foreign proceedings throughout Europe, South America and Asia.

Alan has been involved in dozens of major bankruptcy and insolvency cases including Mallinckrodt, Petroplus, Constellation, Kaupthing, Global Brands, Enron, Capmark, Refco, Calpine, St. Vincents, Madoff and Tribune. Alan has extensive experience and is knowledgeable in the interplay between intellectual property and bankruptcy law.
