She Shapes AI Makes Its US Debut: Moses Singer Co-Hosts a Landmark Gathering on Responsible AI
On October 8, 2026, Moses Singer and She Shapes AI, a global leadership initiative for women-led responsible AI innovation, co-hosted an invitation-only leadership conference bringing together leaders from business, law, research and technology for She Shapes AI's first-ever US convening. It was a resounding success!
After Rebecca Goodman-Stephens, Moses Singer's CEO, welcomed attendees, Eleonore Fournier-Tombs, New York State's Chief AI Officer, who leads responsible AI deployment and governance across 51 executive agencies, delivered the Opening Address.
Dr. Julia Stamm, founder of She Shapes AI, set the scene with a powerful introduction and Renée Cummings, a global AI and AGI governance specialist, University of Virginia professor and one of the world's top 100 women in AI ethics, then challenged the room with her keynote, “The Invisible Power of Opacity.” Rhiana Spring, an international human rights advocate, AI pioneer and entrepreneur, followed with “When AI Meets Her – Designing Safety into the Machine,” drawing on her work creating Sophia, the world's first chatbot designed to support survivors of domestic violence.
In the afternoon, the focus moved from principle to practice with the “AI in Action” panel featuring Shay Bolton (Corporate Managing Director, Savills North America), Marci Weisler (Managing Director, Oaklins DeSilva + Phillips and founder of SWSI Media), Alexia Crawford (CEO and founder of EthosQuest and Chairperson of 8westervelt), Nikky Kho (founder of the AI Startup House and Real AI Dynamics), Anna Murray (CEO of eMedia LLC and co-founder of SIX3RO) and Alon Shwartz (co-founder and COO of Trellis) sharing candid lessons on putting AI to work. Dr. Stamm closed the day with a lively fireside chat with Caroline De Cock, a tech and AI policy strategist, writer, speaker and podcaster. Between sessions, attendees attended workshops and networked, forging connections with the leaders shaping what comes next in AI. For Moses Singer, the event reflected the firm's commitment to helping clients and the wider community navigate AI’s legal, ethical, and business questions.
