Biography
Robert McFarlane is a litigator at Moses Singer whose practice focuses on commercial litigation and white-collar criminal defense and investigations.
Robert has briefed and argued cases in various state and federal courts as well as in arbitration. His litigation experience spans a wide range of topics, including contract disputes, banking law, tort law, RICO and state and federal criminal law. Robert has additional experience advising institutional clients on letter of credit transactions.
Of note, Robert represented a prominent individual in the Trump-Russia investigation involving hearings before multiple Congressional subcommittees. He successfully defended the founders of a hedge fund in an all-or-nothing ownership dispute. Robert also obtained total dismissal in the Southern District of New York of narcotics trafficking charges carrying a mandatory minimum of 10 years’ imprisonment.
Robert has been recognized as a Rising Star, New York Metro Super Lawyers® every year since 2016 and has been named to The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch every year since the list’s inception in 2020.
Before practicing law, Robert held a variety of roles in the restaurant and hospitality industry. He spends his time outside the courtroom experimenting in the kitchen and playing Pickleball.
