Howard A. Fischer was quoted in an July 21, 2022 Guardian article discussing the recent criminal insider trading charges brought against a former Coinbase employee and two others.

Mr. Fischer explained why the criminal case does not involve securities fraud: “It’s not an insider trading case because there is no such thing as insider trading for a non-security like a crypto asset, so the prosecutors have had to use wire fraud.”
