Howard Fischer will Chair the EY 2022 London Global Conference panel "Sustainability and International Regulation." The conference will be held November 30 – December 2, 2022 and Mr. Fischer's panel will be held on December 2. 

This prestigious panel sponsored by the New York State Bar Association International Section and Ernst & Young LLP UK will address the different manner in which legal regimes are approaching ESG issues. For example, in the US sustainability is being approached as a financial disclosure issue, and initiatives by the US Securities & Exchange Commission seek to require even non-public companies to disclose their greenhouse gas emissions have been very controversial. New disclosure requirements will create new spheres of opportunity and risk, for both companies that report environmental impact as well as those that audit and certify that impact. Governance issues are also a global hot button concern, and not only present additional litigation and enforcement risks, but, in the era of viral social media, significant reputational risks as well.

The panel will also discuss how different areas are addressing these issues, and the cross-border implications of these rapidly developing areas.
