Milton Springut was quoted in a Forbes article titled "Tapestry Fights On Two Legal Battlefronts Against The FTC And Gap/Old Navy." The article discusses two lawsuits involving Tapestry, Inc, owner of the Coach, Kate Spade and Stuart Weitzman brands. In one of the suits, Tapestry is challenging Gap's Old Navy brand for using its trademark "Coach" label on T-shirts, asserting that Old Navy is engaging in trademark infringement, unfair business practices and unfair competition by capitalizing on the 'Coach' name. Mr. Springut said “[c]onsumer confusion is the benchmark against which infringement claims are assessed, so if consumers are confused, it could bolster Coach’s case for infringement.”
