Howard A. Fischer was quoted in a Law360 article discussing the stepping down of SEC chairman, Jay Clayton at the end of the year. Mr. Fischer said that Clayton's successor will depend on "whether President Biden wants to emphasize enforcement or regulation." Should he prioritize enforcement, Bharara or another candidate with "a similar prosecutorial background might be selected," Fischer said, adding that New York Attorney General Letitia James is also an option, though her previous cases against Trump "might complicate Senate review."
