Moses Singer Team Represents L-Acoustics Against Tampa-based Rental Company for Trademark Infringement
Milton Springut and J.T. Parker Murray obtained a $5 Million judgment on behalf of L-Acoustics, an industry leader in the design and manufacturing of professional audio equipment, against Tampa-based rental company, Se7ven Sounds Music, Inc. for trademark infringement, counterfeiting and unfair competition. A judgment of this magnitude is a first in the professional audio industry.
Se7ven Sounds Music manufactured counterfeit speakers and then rented them for rock concerts and the like, claiming the speakers were the real thing from L-Acoustics.
The action was commenced by seizing 136 counterfeit speakers and a mountain of evidence revealing Se7ven Sounds Music’s orchestration of the counterfeiting scheme, evidence that would never have seen the light of day absent the seizure order.
Obtaining this evidence at the start of the case gave L-Acoustics the advantage at all stages of the litigation and led to an expeditious resolution in less than 8 months, with a large judgment awarded to our client L-Acoustics while limiting its financial and reputational damage.
