On April 28th, Young Lawyers Committee of the Historical Society of the New York Courts Co-Chair, Justin Goldberg, spoke with ninth grade students at the City College Magnet School of the Arts in Upper Manhattan. Their teacher, Jenna Young, had contacted the Society to arrange a class visit for her students who were preparing for their mock trial based on the criminal trial of Adnan Syed, the subject of the Serial podcast. Justin (a former prosecutor) spoke with the students about the importance of trial preparation and how to conduct a direct and cross examination, as well as answered their many questions, including staying after the class to talk with individual students. The students and their teacher were thrilled.
