Avi will be a dialogue leader on the panel titled, "Criminal Trade Secret Law and Practice," at The Sedona Conference’s Working Group 12 Annual Meeting 2026.

Trade secret misappropriation is both a civil wrong and a crime. This panel of experienced practitioners will explore the history, purpose, and background on criminal trade secret law, including sentencing, prosecution, and penalties. This session will further consider how government learns of trade secret theft and will address enforcement decisions, including DOJ corporate enforcement policy and considerations in bringing federal criminal cases vs. civil recourse for victims. Additional topics include enforcement trends and applicable state statutes. A final area of exploration is what are the considerations for victims of trade secret theft.
