Moses & Singer LLP Achieves Pro Bono Victory for Unaccompanied Immigrant Minor In Removal Proceedings

March 6, 2020

In a pro bono matter, Moses & Singer attorneys secured Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) for an El Salvadorian minor, who entered the country after she was abandoned by her parents and forced to flee her home due to gang violence.  Obtainment of SIJS will allow for termination of removal proceedings against her and application for a green card so that she can remain in the U.S. legally.

Moses & Singer took on this representation in partnership with Kids in Need of Defense (KIND), a national organization that advocates for the rights of unaccompanied migrant and refugee children in the U.S.

The Moses & Singer team handling this pro bono matter was led by Shari A. Alexander and included Megan H. Daneshrad, John Vincent Baranello and Elizabeth O. Nwabueze
