On September 13, 2012, more than 30 well-established Japanese companies and other businesses were represented at the “The 19th HR Seminar” co-hosted by Moses & Singer and Actus Consulting Group. The attendees represented businesses as diverse as bookstores to banks and electronics companies. Avi Skoff, Co-Chair of the Labor, Employment & Employee Benefits Group, discussed key strategies for drafting enforceable non-competition/non-solicitation agreements and non-disclosure agreements. Kimberly Klein, partner in the Labor, Employment & Employee Benefits Group spoke on the current view of the NLRB on social media postings in the workplace and employer handbooks, including ways employers can best protect their companies.
The two-hour event, held at Moses & Singer’s New York office at The Chrysler Building, was extremely well-received. Many of our guests requested follow up meetings with our presenters, noting that the presentations were timely, informative, educational, and relevant to their businesses. Special thanks go to Daisuke Yuki and Hirohisa Naito − of counsel to Moses & Singer, and active in the Moses & Singer Intellectual Property, Labor & Employment, and International Trade practices − who coordinated the event. As a result of Mr. Yuki’s and Mr. Naito’s strong ties and commitment to the Japanese community, the materials were presented in English and Japanese.
