Moses & Singer Client Sgt. Charles Hernandez Featured in Daily News
September 10, 2011
The September 10, 2011 edition of the Daily News posted a story concerning Moses & Singer client Sgt. Charles Hernandez, a 9/11 hero and Iraq war veteran, who was evicted from the McDonald's at Times Square for entering with his service dog, Valor. Partner David Lackowitz filed a federal lawsuit on September 9, 2011 based on allegations that the fast food chain's manager hollered at Sgt. Hernandez to "Get that f-----g dog out of here or I'll call the cops and have you arrested." The war vet, who relies upon Valor to cope with post-traumatic stress, had taken his wife, three children and Valor to get ice cream on their way to a Broadway show on January 26th. David Lackowitz, a partner in the firm's Litigation Group, has successfully pursued a number of similar claims on behalf of disabled veterans who rely on service animals.
