Moses & Singer client American Medical Alert completed a joint venture with Qualcomm and Hughes Telematics to create the first cellular-based mobile personal emergency response system for elderly, infirm and chronically ill people to receive emergency assistance. Currently, this type of product is only offered through landline phone systems. The joint venture attempts to create a product that will be based on cellular communications, given the rapid shift away from traditional phone lines.
