Please Join Us for a Complimentary Webinar on the New Payment Device Called a Bank Payment Obligation (BPO)

Date: March 4, 2014
Time: 10:00 am - 11:00 am EST

Michael Evan Avidon, Partner and Co-Chair of the Banking and Finance Group at Moses & Singer LLP, will be presenting a live webinar on Bank Payment Obligations, or BPOs for short. BPOs are a new payment device designed to pay for the purchase of goods, especially in international trade. BPOs are intended to be processed quickly and electronically, using a computerized data matching application.
This presentation will explain the basics of BPOs and compare BPOs to paper-based letters of credit and ordinary contracts. It will focus on questions that banks, buyers and sellers should consider before using BPOs, including what law governs BPOs. Registrants will receive useful written materials and a Q&A session will follow the presentation.
