The Institute of International Banking Law & Practice (IIBLP) will hold a 2-day conference this October in New York. The 2015 Americas Standby & Guarantee Forum will be held on October 15 and the 2015 Americas Letter of Credit Law Summit will take place on October 16. M&S partners Michael Evan Avidon and Paul M. Roder will speak about trends and issues in the letter of credit the industry over the 2-day span as they join other prominent panelists and attendees including banking and finance professionals, practicing attorneys, academics and others.
The October 15 event concentrates on bank guarantees and standby letters of credit and various issues that arise in practice and law. Focusing on concerns confronting today’s practitioner, the program will include lessons from recent court cases and tips for drafting sound bank guarantees and standby letters of credit.
The October 16 event brings together top legal minds in the field together with bankers to discuss recent court cases and legal interpretations that affect letter of credit and bank guarantee practice. It will be most beneficial for lawyers working for firms or banks, as well as bankers and corporate letter of credit users with an active interest in banking law.
