Lawrence L. Ginsburg is a partner in Moses & Singer's Litigation and Business Reorganization, Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights practice groups. Mr. Ginsburg regularly represents financial institutions and international corporate entities. He has litigated creditor rights/insolvency, intellectual property, construction, entertainment and other corporate and commercial disputes.
Through Lawrence's representation of financial institutions and manufacturers, he has gained broad experience and recognition in the international diamond and jewelry industry. He recently represented the Official Committees of Unsecured Creditors in the M. Fabrikant & Sons, Inc. (S.D.N.Y.); Friedman's Inc. (Del); Whitehall Jewelers Inc. (Del); Ultra Stores, Inc. (S.D.N.Y) and Finlay Enterprises, Inc. (S.D.N.Y.) bankruptcy cases.
Prior to becoming engaged in private practice, Lawrence worked as an Assistant District Attorney for Bronx County from 1973 to 1975.

Bankruptcy:
- Represented the Official Committees of Unsecured Creditors in the largest retail jewelry bankruptcy cases, including: Friedman's Inc [Del.]; Whitehall Jewelers Inc [Del.].; Ultra Stores Inc[ SDNY]; Finlay Enterprises, Inc [SDNY] and in the bankruptcy of the largest jewelry manufacturer, M. Fabrikant & Sons, Inc [SDNY}.
Restructuring:
- Represented ABN AMRO Bank N.V., as letter of credit bank, in restructuring numerous credits within a New York City Industrial Development Agency portfolio aggregating in excess of $400 million.
- Represented international bank in the workout/restructuring of indebtedness in excess of $30 million owed by an international diamond manufacturer.
- Represented international bank in the workout/restructuring of indebtedness in excess of $40 million owed by a major international environmental controls manufacturer.
- Represented Royal Bank of Scotland in the workout/restructuring of indebtedness in excess of $25 million owed by composers of a major music catalogue.
Litigation:
- Represented the debtor in the landmark case establishing the right to a jury trial in certain bankruptcy court proceedings [Ben Cooper, Inc v. The Insurance Company of the State of Pennsylvania].
- Represented a major international bank in defending a $20 million lender liability action brought by several major international diamond dealers--resulting in jury verdict for our client bank [Supreme Court, New York County].
- Represented an international diamond manufacturer in the successful prosecution of a negligence claim against its computer consultant for placing the client into computer software inappropriate for the client's business needs--resulting in an Award for client of $1.5 million [American Arbitration Association, NY Office].
- Represented Bernard Spitzer, the developer of the largest apartment building in New York City, in an arbitration commenced by the building's drywall contractor seeking in excess of $8 million in damages--resulting in an Award in favor of client [American Arbitration Association, NY Office].
- Represented Union Bank of Israel in successfully defending a lender liability claim in excess of $30 million asserted by its New York based borrower--resulting in a dismissal of borrower's claims [Supreme Court, New York County].
- Represented exclusive licensee of leading contraceptive device in an action for specific performance commenced by world's largest pharmaceutical company seeking to enforce an agreement to purchase our client--resulting in Award in favor of client [American Arbitration Association, New Jersey].
