Irving Sitnick practices in the areas of trusts and estates and taxation, providing sophisticated tax advice to individual clients and their enterprises. He also advises not-for-profit organizations and their leadership in connection with corporate governance, fiduciary responsibilities, and fund raising activities.
Representative recent transactions in which he has counseled clients include the sale of a family business in a leveraged buyout, the liquidation of a client's interest in a public corporation through a tax-free merger, the intergenerational transfer of assets using family limited partnerships, and the use of trust structures to reduce estate and gift taxes and to shift the incidence of income taxes while protecting family assets.
Irv also represents individual and corporate fiduciaries as Executors and Trustees.
Active in charitable affairs, Irv is a director of the Henry and Lucy Moses Fund and is a Member of the Board of Trustees of The Educational Alliance and The Elaine Kaufman Cultural Center.
