Dmitry Petrov works in both the Litigation practice group and the Banking & Finance practice group, bringing his valuable prior business and legal experience to bear in both areas.  His work at Moses & Singer in Litigation has included drafting briefs and motion papers, working on discovery demands, responses and productions, and participating in plea agreement and sentencing hearings.  His work in Moses & Singer in Banking & Finance has included reviewing, negotiating and revising documents for making and securing loans and other extensions of credit as well as preparing legal research memoranda for clients concerning banking laws and regulations.  Dmitry joined Moses & Singer as an associate in 2020 after working at the firm as a law clerk in 2019.

Dmitry holds two Master of Laws degrees from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law with a concentration in Corporate and Securities Law, and City University of London School of Law with a concentration in International Commercial Law: Banking and Finance, following his legal education in Ukraine.

Prior to joining Moses & Singer, while in law school, Dmitry completed an internship with the New York State Department of Financial Services, where he worked at the Enforcement Division on banking sector investigations. Before that, Dmitry consulted European financial institutions on restructuring and regulatory compliance, and advised international startups about matters of contract and regulatory risk management, legal corporate governance, and due diligence.

Dmitry also has an extensive experience in negotiation and preparation of business contracts related to company formation, investment, confidentiality, and intellectual property.
