NYC Employers May Not Ask Applicants About Criminal History on Applications

On June 29, 2015, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio signed into law a bill that prohibitis New York City employers from asking applicants about criminial convictions or pending arrests on job applications. Under the new law, titled the Fair Chance Act, employers would only be able to ask about such after a conditional offer of employment has been made.
