JoAnna R. Nicholson is an associate at Moses & Singer LLP in the Healthcare group. JoAnna represents a number of healthcare clients, including hospital systems, academic medical centers, medical device manufacturers, biotechnology companies, managed care plans and long term care facilities in a variety of transactional, operational and regulatory matters. Specific aspects of JoAnna’s practice include:
- Advising clients on state and federal privacy issues, including drafting and implementing policies and guidelines regarding regulatory compliance with HIPAA and the amendments to HIPAA under the HITECH Act;
- Drafting clinical research agreements on human research subjects;
- Assisting clients regarding compliance with Anti-Kickback and Stark requirements;
- Counseling clients on state and federal licensure issues; and
- Advising clients regarding the FDA drug and device approval process.
JoAnna also has experience providing clients with guidance on matters involving business reorganization and bankruptcy, primarily representing commercial creditors, including indenture trustees and creditors’ committees.
