Devika Kewalrani will be speaking at the New Yok Ciy Bar event on October 13, 2015 from 6pm - 9pm. The program will present an overview of significant developments in the practice of elder law. A panel of experienced practitioners will discuss a variety of legal and ethical issues raised by a multifaceted hypothetical on estate planning where a client seeks guardianship for a parent, including ethical concerns regarding client capacity, competence, confidentiality, conflicts of interest and the role/duties of a lawyer serving as guardian. The panel will also present traditional as well as alternative approaches available to guardianship.
